Who are Royal Business College?

Royal Business College is a private independent third level college for International Students.

How can I apply for a course?

To enrol at the college, you need to complete an application form and send it to the college with the registration fee of €100, two passport-sized photographs and copies of any academic certificates. We will then send a provisional acceptance and advise you on how to proceed further.

Is Drogheda a good place to study?

Yes. Drogheda is within easy commuting distance to Dublin. It is a friendly, safe town with a truly multicultural atmosphere. Please read our students comments on the college and Drogheda.

Can I work part-time whilst studying at Royal Business College?

Your student visa allows you to work for 20 hours per week in Ireland during term time and 40 hours during vacations. Our Student Welfare Officer can offer advice and assistance with finding part-time employment in the local area. However, part-time work should not interfere with your college studies.

Will Royal Business College be able to find me accommodation?

Yes. We can organise host-family accommodation prior to your arrival in Ireland. We can also organise house share with other students at the college.

What is the English requirement to study at the College?

If you are applying for our Business Certificate or Diploma Courses, you will need the following English Language test scores

IELTS - minimum score of 5, or TOEFL - minimum score of 173, or Cambridge - First Certificate in English (FCE) or higher.

If you are applying to study English at the college, there is no English level requirement.

I have the minimum IELTS score in English, but I am not confident that I have the skills to understand what is taught during lessons.

As you will be living and working in an English speaking environment, you will quickly develop your listening and speaking skills. Our college specialises in International students and our teaching methods reflect this. All our lecturers have TEFL qualifications and we do understand and can help with any difficulties you may encounter.

I need help with my grammar and academic English!

All assignments, class work and homework is written in English, so you will develop these skills while studying your course. In addition, you can attend our English language classes to improve your English.

Will I be homesick?

Probably. However, you have the opportunity to make friends with people from a wide variety of different cultures and you will soon get to know other students from the college and as Irish people are very friendly you will make friends with the local people as well.
